ASHTON — Deputies have arrested a man allegedly behind burglaries spanning several cities and counties in east Idaho.

Steven Craig “Puck” Purcell, 56, was arrested Wednesday morning and booked into the Fremont County Jail on burglary charges.

Investigators served a search warrant at Purcell’s home in Ashton and recovered several construction and power tools that were likely stolen, according to a news release.

Deputies say Purcell is believed to have been actively burglarizing in areas from Shelley to Island Park. Some stolen items may have already been sold, according to investigators.

Detectives ask anyone who may have purchased construction or power tools from Purcell to contact the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office at (208) 624-4482.
