Officers honored during Cabela’s appreciation luncheon
Published at | Updated atAMMON — Dozens of law enforcement officers from east Idaho were honored during an appreciation luncheon this afternoon.
Cabela’s hosted a barbecue for police officers and offered a five percent discount on products inside the store.
“We appreciate that they risk their lives every day to make sure we and our communities are safe,” Cabela’s General Manager Curtis Smith says. “It’s a stressful and often thankless job so we thought this would be a great way to tell them thanks.”
Smith spent three years as a police cadet in Missouri and his father is a retired police officer. He says recent events across the country, including the shooting of five police officers in Dallas, led to his decision to host the luncheon.
