REXBURG — An Oklahoma woman is in the Madison County Jail after being stopped twice for allegedly driving over 90 miles per hour with two small children in the car.

Sheneda A. Davis, 34, was arrested on misdemeanor charges of reckless driving, resisting and obstructing an officer, providing false information to a police officer and an injury to child from Madison County.

She is also facing misdemeanor reckless driving and providing false information to a police officer charges from Fremont County.

Police reports show Davis was stopped Saturday evening around 5:45 p.m. on U.S. Highway 20 in Ashton, according to Fremont County Detective Bart Quayle. He says she was driving 92 mph in a 45 mph zone.

“She didn’t have a driver’s license and told the deputy she had 12 hours to get home because her husband had been involved in an accident,” Quayle tells EastIdahoNews.com.

Davis told the deputy her name was Shanequa Antoinette Martin, Quayle says, and she was released with a warning.

A short time later, a Rexburg Police officer pulled Davis over on North Second East for driving 92 mph in a 45 mph zone.

Rexburg Police Capt. Randy Lewis says a 1-year-old and a 4-year-old were in the vehicle, and Davis gave the officer a false name.

The officer eventually learned Davis’s real identity and discovered she was wanted in Oklahoma on at least one felony arrest warrant.

Lewis says Davis was belligerent and kicked the patrol vehicle window as she was being transported to the Madison County Jail.

The children were taken into protective custody by the Department of Health and Welfare.

She is scheduled to appear in court today.
