Closures and evacuations

Road closures are still in effect in the same areas and we continue to stress, especially coming up on the weekend, that the public needs to stay out of fire areas to allow fire crews, local ranchers, and equipment to work.

There is a Forest Closure on the Caribou Targhee National Forest in the area impacted by the Henry’s Creek Fire. You can find the Closure Order and Closure Map on the Henry’s Creek Fire on the inciweb.gov page.

Unnecessary people in the fire area is a safety hazard and draws resources away from fire fighting to safety response, which significantly hampers the ability to control this fire. Please help us by staying clear of these areas and cooperating with deputies and personnel at roadblocks.

Property owners and ranchers are still allowed to enter areas affected by the fire as long as safety conditions allow for it.

Currently there are no evacuations in progress; however, the alerts to the residents along the south side of the Snake River from the Swan Valley Bridge to Palisades Dam are still in place for them to monitor the fire and prepare for any emergency that arises.
