POCATELLO — A well-known local bakery just finalized the sale of their facility to another local company.

The buy-out was finalized on Friday. KPVI reporter Deanne Coffin has been working to find out the details.

Harper’s Homemade Bread started baking loaves in 2002. Since then the company has grown from selling just in Pocatello to throughout Idaho and Utah.

“Every day you put out that product, you get to see it, you get to know what you are selling the public is something you can stand behind,” says Jeff Harper, Founder and Managing Partner.

The original founder of the bread company will still be a managing partner. He says he looks forward to the new relationship with the Driscoll Company that just took over.

“We have a lot more resources to grow and expand the business then Harper’s Homemade had on its own,” says Harper.

Owners say nothing is going to change other than they are going to be making a whole lot more dough.

“We have big plans for the company. We see over several years seeing a lot of growth. We see being able to hire a lot more people,” says Eric Driscoll, CEO of Driscoll Management Company.

The Driscoll’s also have plans to make a difference in the community.

“When we pull that bread off the shelf in the future as we have extra, we actually plan to help the community by helping those in need who are hungry, so we plan to donate, find ways to donate the product,” says Driscoll.

As for the founder of the company, he wants people to know that the bread company will keep it’s same name and the integrity that stands behind it.

“Harper’s Homemade is going to stay the same quality product that it’s been for the last 15 years,” says Harper.

The new company says they plan to expand into other markets across the company.
