Bus accident on Hitt Rd. near Sandcreek Commons

AMMON — A school bus carrying choir students was involved in a crash on Hitt Road near Sunnyside Road Friday around 10 a.m.
Police confirmed a Bonneville Joint School District 93 bus was making a left turn when the driver became distracted and side swiped a car. Police did not say which direction the bus was coming from.
The Idaho Falls Police Department officials say it seemed driver lost focus because of something in the front of the bus near the dash board. Police say once the driver looked up he realized he wasn’t going to make the turn and ended up crashing into a car.
There were no injuries reported. The bus received minor damage on the front left side. Police say the car had extensive damage to the front and side.
No children were hurt and they remained on the bus while police investigated.
It has not been confirmed if the driver was cited or if school district will take disciplinary measures.
