RIGBY– Community members have donated hundreds of items of clothing for the annual clothing swap in Jefferson County on Saturday.

This is the fifth year the Rigby Police Department and the Rigby Community Library have hosted the swap.

“This time of year a lot of people are getting rid of their clothes and there is a lot of families in need of those clothes,” Police Chief Sam Tower tells EastIdahoNews.com. “We have been able to help hundreds of families in need by doing this.”

The police department and library has received donated clothes for the last few days, volunteers then sorted the clothes by size and type.

Tower says it’s free to public and invites those in need to visit the Rigby Community Library to see if they can use some of the clothing.

Clothing left over from today’s event will be donated to Rexburg Family Crisis Center.

The clothing swap ends at 3 p.m. Saturday.
