Idaho Falls man arrested for aggravated assault

IDAHO FALLS — Local authorities arrested 27‐year‐old James E. Anderson for aggravated assault late Friday night.

The Ammon man was also arrested for unlawful possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, exhibition of a weapon and carrying a concealed weapon while under the influence. He was booked into the Bonneville County Jail.

Police reports show officers responded to the 600 block of First Street around 11:39 p.m. for a report of a male pointing a gun, which he pulled from his waistband, at people and passing vehicles.

Officers contacted Anderson, who was visibly intoxicated and a convicted felon, and he was taken into custody.

He was found in possession of a pellet type handgun.
