Parents of 15-year-old student disarmed him after shot fired at Utah school

BOUNTIFUL, Utah (KSTU) — Bountiful Police said the 15-year-old student suspected of firing a gun at Mueller Park Jr. High is in custody and no one has been injured.

Authorities said they found two firearms on the teen.

Bountiful Police said the student fired at least one gunshot into a south hallway ceiling at the school, but no one was hit.

Police said the student’s parents stepped in to disarm him.

Officers said the parents came to the school because they were concerned about their child when they noticed weapons were missing.

Authorities have not confirmed if the shooting was intentional or accidental.

The Davis County School District said classes will continue at the school near 955 E. 1800 S.
