All clear given after ISU safety alert involving possible gun case

UPDATE 2:40 p.m.

POCATELLO – Shortly before 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 27, Idaho State University received a report of an unidentified male carrying what appeared to be a gun case on the north side of Frazier Hall. An emergency alert was immediately sent out to the campus community.

The Pocatello Police Department responded, and after a sweep of campus, the report could not be substantiated. An individual matching the description was not located. Law enforcement will continue to check buildings as a precautionary measure.

It is ISU protocol to immediately issue emergency alerts if a situation is deemed credible.

The campus alert was cleared by 2:35 p.m.

POCATELLO — Idaho State University Public Safety sent out the following warning Monday afternoon:

Public Safety has received a report of a person seen carrying a gun case on the north side of Frazier Hall on Monday, Feb. 27th. Be prepared to run, hide, fight.

Idaho State University safety officials and the Pocatello Police Department are investigating the incident.

There have been no reports of anybody being shot, according to a university spokesman.
