Dilip Vishwanat/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Former Buffalo Bills head coach Doug Marrone was reportedly so upset about the Bills trading up for Sammy Watkins in last April's NFL draft that he stormed out of the team's war room.
Multiple accounts surfaced Sunday revealing more of the discord that went on behind the scenes in Orchard Park between Marrone and the Bills front office.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Marrone was unhappy about a trade that involved such high draft picks for a non-quarterback.
Marrone opted out of his contract with the Bills last week, after a contractual clause allowed him to leave in the event of a change of ownership. The founder of the team, Ralph Wilson Jr. passed away in March and the team was sold to former Buffalo Sabres owner Terry Pegula in October.
In a September practice, Marrone had a loud verbal altercation with Buffalo player personnel director Jim Monos in front of players and media. The two had to be separated by General Manager Doug Whaley and team president Russ Brandon.
The Bills traded the ninth overall pick in the 2014 draft -- as well as a 2015 first-round pick and 2015 fourth-round pick -- to the Cleveland Browns in order to select Sammy Watkins with the No. 4 pick.

Tom Szczerbowski/Getty Images(PITTSFORD, N.Y.) -- The Buffalo Bills opened their 2014 training camp over the weekend, but one of their best defensive players did not come prepared.
Defensive tackle Marcell Dareus failed a conditioning test when he reported to camp, the team has confirmed. Dareus remained on the active/non-football injury list as the Bills held their first training camp practice Sunday evening.
"He's not the only one, but obviously you want your players to come in and be ready to go," coach Doug Marrone said Sunday. "We're here for a long period of time and we'll make up for it."
Dareus reportedly will not re-take the conditioning test until Thursday, at the earliest.
The Pro Bowler was also arrested twice this offseason and could face a suspension from the NFL. Nonetheless, Marrone expects him to play at a high level this season.
"He'll be in shape and ready to play," Marrone said. "Right now he needs to focus on getting himself ready, getting himself on the field, and focus on football.
