Stan Kroenke Has Designs for Two-Team Los Angeles Stadium

Stan Kroenke Has Designs for Two-Team Los Angeles Stadium Dilip Vishwanat/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Rams owner Stan Kroenke will not let anything get in the way of his efforts to move an NFL franchise to Los Angeles. Kroenke has designed his proposed stadium in Inglewood, California to host two teams, according to the Los Angeles Times. The design model accommodates the NFL's idea that Los Angeles is a two-team city, and competes with the Raiders and Chargers proposal for a joint stadium in Carson, California. Kroenke has publicly stated that he does not intend to move the Rams from St. Louis, but it would be odd for an owner to create a stadium and not house his own team in it. The Rams have now switched to a year-to-year lease with the city of St. Louis, so a move would be rather straightforward, should it occur.  New York Giants owner John Mara has stated that he believes a team will play in Los Angeles next year. To move, a team would need 24 other owners to support the relocation.  The earliest that would happen would be January 2016. Follow @ABCNewsRadio Copyright © 2015, ABC Radio. All rights reserved.

Report: Rams Owner Will Move Team Without Permission

Report: Rams Owner Will Move Team Without Permission Doug Pensinger/Getty Images(ST. LOUIS, Mo.) -- St. Louis Rams owner Stan Kroenke is buying land in Los Angeles and is intent on using it. According to ProFootballTalk.com, Kroenke will move the Rams from St. Louis with or without NFL approval.  To move, a team needs 24 (or three fourths of the other owners) votes of approval. Kroenke recently purchased 60 acres of land next to the Forum in Los Angeles and joined the owners of Hollywood Park to build an 80,000 seat stadium. ProFootballTalk also reports that Kroenke has informed the mayor of Inglewood that his team will be moving to the area.  It is possible that Kroenke could enter into a legal dispute with the NFL if enough owners intend to block the move. The Raiders, under the ownership of Al Davis, were the last team to sue the league in an effort to move, ironically to Los Angeles. Davis, filed an anti-trust lawsuit and in 1982 a district court ruled in the Raiders favor. They then moved to Los Angeles.    Follow @ABCNewsRadio Copyright © 2015, ABC Radio. All rights reserved.

Report: Rams Owner Seeking to Build Stadium in Los Angeles

Report: Rams Owner Seeking to Build Stadium in Los Angeles Doug Pensinger/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- The St. Louis Rams may soon be returning to the City of Angels. Stan Kroenke, who last year purchased 60 acres next to the Forum and Hollywood Park, recently joined the owners of Hollywood Park to build an NFL stadium, according to the Los Angeles Times. Kronke also is "negotiating to purchase" the 300-acre defunct horse racing track that resides on Hollywood Park. The current owners of the land, Stockbridge Capital Group, already plan to build a mixed-use community that now includes an 80,000-seat stadium. The lease on the Edward Jones Dome, where the Rams currently play in St. Louis, expires at the end of this season.  The team is reportedly negotiating a year-to-year lease with the city. The Rams previously resided in L.A. from 1946 through 1994. Follow @ABCNewsRadio Copyright © 2015, ABC Radio. All rights reserved.
