Online Scam Took One Local Man's Money

A Pocatello man says he was the target of a scam artist after losing money while looking for employment. Local News 8 reports that a listing on a help wanted website promised good money to anyone willing to become a secret shopper. The man says he was asked to pay $3 up front on the company’s website, and started to notice more charges racking up on his account. A short time later, the website shut down and he couldn’t contact anyone from the company. While the bank is working with the man to get rid of the charges, he says he wants to warn people in the area about the scam. An investigation is ongoing.
