George Clooney Commercial Wins Norwegian Ad Award
Published at(LOS ANGELES) — George Clooney may win another Oscar later this month, but if not, he’s got something else to fall back on: a commercial he shot for Norwegian TV has snagged a Goldfish Award for 2011’s Best Commercial.
The clever spot for DNB Bank features an average-looking woman trying to piece together what happened the night before, Hangover-style. Following an apparently wild night, she wakes up wearing a wedding ring.
After a few moments, her new mystery husband appears — it’s Clooney, who, speaking English, tells her he’s been looking for houses for them online while she’s been sleeping it off.
The ad then reads, “Some people are lucky in life. For the rest of us, saving up can be smart.”
