Tuukka Rask Out 4-6 Weeks
Published at(BOSTON) — Boston Bruins’ goaltender Tuukka Rask will miss the next four to six weeks with a lower abdomen/groin strain, the team announced Monday.
Rask was injured during the Bruins 3-2 loss against the Islanders on Saturday.
Through 23 games this season, Rask has gone 11-8-3 with a 2.05 goals-against average and a .929 save percentage
To replace Rask, the Bruins signed veteran netminder Marty Turco.
The 36-year-old Turco has played 10 NHL seasons, nine with the Dallas Stars and one with the Chicago Blackhawks.
Last season, Turco went 11-11 with Chicago with a 3.02 GAA and .897 save percentage.
He will serve as the backup to Tim Thomas.
