Final “Hunger Games” Story to Be Split into Two Films

Lionsgate Films(LOS ANGELES) — Fans of The Hunger Games rejoice! The wildly-popular film will now have three more films to satiate fans’ appetites.
Lionsgate is set to turn Mockingjay, the third book in Suzanne Collins’ Hunger Games trilogy, into a two-part finale, Deadline.com reports.
Catching Fire, based on Collins’ 2009 bestselling sequel that picks up where The Hunger Games left off, is set to hit theaters on Nov. 22, 2013. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 will debut a year after that, on Nov. 21, 2014, with part two hitting theaters on Nov. 20, 2015.
All of the film’s stars, including Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth, are set to return for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, due out next year.
