Falcons Lose CB Brent Grimes For The Season

Jamie Squire/Getty Images(FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga.) — Atlanta Falcons cornerback Brent Grimes will miss the remainder of the season after suffering an Achilles tendon injury in Sunday’s 40-24 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.
“Brent’s made a number of plays since he’s been here,” Falcons head coach Mike Smith said on Monday. “He’s been a cornerstone at the corner position, both left and right. It’s the next-man-up mentality and that’s how you have to approach it.”
In 59 career games with the Falcons, Grimes has 253 total tackles and 13 interceptions.
