Sebastian Vettel Wins Formula One’s Japanese Grand Prix
Published at(SUZUKA, Japan) — Formula One driver Sebastian Vettel took home the checkered flag in Sunday’s running of the Japanese Grand Prix. With the victory, the defending two-time F1 champion trails leader Fernando Alonso by four points in the championship standings.
“I want to be very careful because it’s still a long way ahead and there’s a lot of things that can happen,” Vettel said.
Starting from the pole, Vettel held off challenges from Felipe Massa, Kamui Kobayashi and Jenson Button to claim his second consecutive race.
Alsono’s day ended early after mishap on the first turn forced him out of the race.
