Donald Trump Sues Bill Maher over “Orangutan” Comment

Mike Stobe/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — Donald Trump is no spawn of an orangutan, and to emphasize the point, he is suing HBO host Bill Maher.
TMZ.com reports Trump has sued the host of Real Time with Bill Maher for five million dollars. It all stems from an appearance by Maher last month on NBC’s The Tonight Show, during which the noted liberal said The Donald must be “the spawn of his mother having sex with an orangutan.” He then said he would donate five million dollars to charity if Trump could prove otherwise.
It was a reference to The Donald making a similar offer last year to President Obama during election season, demanding that the commander-in-chief release his college transcripts to prove he was born in the United States.
Trump’s lawsuit, filed Monday in Los Angeles, says he has released a copy of his birth certificate and that Maher has yet to deliver on his promise. He’s now seeking five million from Maher, which would be donated to charity.
