(NEW YORK) — The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended the day at yet another all-time high, on its longest winning streak since the 10 days that ended on Nov. 15, 1996. It closed up 83.86 points at 14,539.14.
The Nasdaq added 13.81 for the day, pushing to a multi-year high of 3,258.93, while the S&P 500 continues to inch toward an all-time high, up 8.71 points to 1,563.23.
Good news on the job market was among the market drivers Thursday. Weekly unemployment claims dropped more than expected.
The Labor Department said that applications fell 10,000 to 332,000. Claims around this level are an indication of a strong job market.
Claims are now at the lowest level since March 2008.
