Ammon Adding Traffic Lights, Crosswalks to Intersection

(AMMON, ID) – A dangerous intersection in Ammon should be a little safer soon. The city plans to put traffic lights and crosswalks at Ammon Road and First Street near the Country Corner store. A 57-year-old woman was hit by a car at that intersection Wednesday night, and three others have also been hit there in the last few years. The project should be completed sometime next year, at a cost of around $300,000. Until then, police advise pedestrians to cross at the stop sign and to make eye contact with any drivers nearby.
