Rockies’ Tulowitzki Expected to Miss 4-6 Weeks with Broken Rib
Published at(DENVER) — Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki will be placed on the disabled list after breaking a rib, according to the Denver Post.
Tulowitzki hurt himself making a diving stop in the eighth inning during the team’s 5-4 loss to the Washington Nationals.
“I’m just really upset, I worked so hard (to get back),” Tulowitzki said in a text message to the Denver Post. “I’m in a lot of pain right now; I’m not sure how long (I’ll be out).”
“It’s just an unfortunate thing that happened. I will be back and be even better.”
Tulowitzki is expected to miss 4-6 weeks as he recovers from his latest injury.
Tulowitzki has had injury issues in the past. In 2012 he missed 115 games, in 2011 he missed 19 games, and in 2010 he missed 40 games.
This season, Tulowitzki ranks in the top-five in the National League in batting average, home runs, and RBI.
