Central Idaho Fires Continue to Grow
Published at(SALMON, ID) – Two fires burning in central Idaho have grown to more than 9,000 acres each. The Lodgepole Fire west of Challis is approaching 10,000 acres, and is only 15 percent contained. The Papoose Fire about 40 miles west of Salmon has burned more than 9,400 acres and is threatening to jump Big Creek. Another fire started north of Gooding on Sunday. It’s now expanded to more than 8,500 acres.
