LeBron James Considering Open NBAPA Position
Published at(NEW YORK) — Two-time NBA champion and league MVP LeBron James is considering running for president of the National Basketball Players Association, reports ESPN.
James is coming off his second NBA title with the Heat and second NBA Finals MVP, but is putting “some very heavy thought,” into the position, one source said.
Current NBAPA president Derek Fisher’s term expired this summer.
The league is hoping to fill the position by August when they meet in Las Vegas.
If James gets the position, he’d be the highest-profile player to be president since Patrick Ewing in the 1990’s, reports ESPN’s Brian Windhorst.
