Gunmen in Libya Kill 15 Soldiers
Published at(TRIPOLI, Libya) — Gunmen attacked a military post in Libya, southeast of the capital of Tripoli, killing at least 15 soldiers.
Several other soldiers were injured, the BBC reports.
The attackers arrived in vehicles topped with machine-guns. According to the BBC, an official described the attack as an ambush.
Libya has been hit by a months-long wave of attacks targeting military officers, activists, judges and security agents. Much of the violence is blamed on armed groups with origins in the anti-Gadhafi ‘rebel movement.’
It is not clear who carried out this attack, the BBC reports.
