(LOS ANGELES) — The release of George Clooney’s next film has been postponed.
The Monuments Men, a drama about a World War II platoon on a mission to rescue art from Nazi thieves, was scheduled to open on Dec. 18, but Clooney tells the Los Angeles Times “we didn’t have enough time” to complete the visual effects.
Clooney, who directed and also stars in the film, added, “If any of the effects looked cheesy, the whole movie would look cheesy.”
The Monuments Men, which also stars Matt Damon, Cate Blanchett, Bill Murray, John Goodman and Downton Abbey’s Hugh Bonneville, will now debut sometime in early 2014.
