What Natalie Portman Said When Her Husband Asked Her to Move to Paris

Jamie McCarthy/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — Like a lot of celebrities, Natalie Portman and her husband, French choreographer Benjamin Millepied, live in Los Angeles — for now.
“We’re moving at the end of next year,” the Oscar winner told Marie Claire in its November issue. “Although obviously we’ll be spending a good deal of time there in the meantime.”
Portman, 32, and Millepied, 36, met on the set of the 2010 film Black Swan and were married last year. They have a 2-year-old son together, Aleph.
Although Portman said, “I really, really love it” in Los Angeles, she jumped at the chance to move to Paris.
“When Ben asked me if I wanted to go to Paris, I freaked. Everyone dreams of living in Paris!” she said. “I’m really lucky.”
And though she describes her French vocabulary as “OK,” it seems that the Thor actress is poised to succeed conversationally in the City of Light.
“I mean, not about, like, philosophy,” she explained. “But about this and that, I can manage!”
