McCarron threw for 171 yards and two scores as No. 1 Alabama blanked Chattanooga on Saturday.  He improved to 36-2 as a starter in his final home game, passing Jay Barker for the most wins in school history.

Alabama (11-0, 7-0 SEC) shut out its third opponent of the season and will now prepare to face No. 6 Auburn in the Iron Bowl to determine the Southeastern Conference Western Division champion.

“For me, it was perfect,” linebacker C.J. Mosley said of his final home game. “We came out with a shutout. It can’t get any better than that for a defensive player. We talked about this being a momentum game, going into next week and the rest of the season.

T.J. Yeldon missed the game with a sprained ankle, but Kenyan Drake filled in and rushed for 77 yards with a touchdown.

The Tide outgained Chattanooga (8-4) 435-175 in total yards despite resting their starters for most of the second half.
