Chilisauce, a British event planning website, reports that Christmas Eve is the most popular day to pop the question to your significant other.

The website arrived at that answer based on responses from more than 7,000 men and women who were asked when is the best day to get engaged.

One in three said Christmas Eve, but Valentine’s Day was a very close second, at 30 percent.

Meanwhile, guys, if you get cold feet on Tuesday, there’s always Christmas Day, which was picked by 13 percent of respondents, followed by New Year’s Eve at 9 percent.

Men who fret that they might be missing the boat by not proposing on Christmas Eve shouldn’t be too concerned.  As it turns out, most women would rather get the ring on Valentine’s Day, followed by the anniversary of when she and her boyfriend first met.

Meanwhile, 51 percent of women just want a simple proposal, not an engagement spectacular in public that goes viral.
