Queen Elizabeth Emphasizes Reflection in Christmas Message
Published at(LONDON) — On Wednesday, Queen Elizabeth II delivered her traditional Christmas Day broadcast to the people of the United Kingdom.
Addressing the nation from Buckingham Palace, the Queen emphasized the importance of reflection as the year draws to an end.
Her majesty spoke about her remarkable year from the birth of a great grandchild to the 60th anniversary of her coronation, but also emphasized the need to look ahead.
“In the year ahead, I hope you will have time to pause for moments of quiet reflection,” the Queen said.
“With so many distractions… it’s easy to forget to pause, and take stock. As so many of you will know, the arrival of a baby gives everyone the chance to contemplate the future with renewed happiness and hope. For the new parents, life will never be quite the same again.”
During the speech, previously unseen footage of Prince George’s christening was also broadcast.
