Bruce Bennett/Getty Images(NEW ORLEANS) —  Add Jrue Holiday to the long list of injured NBA stars.

The New Orleans Pelicans announced Friday that Holiday will be sidelined indefinitely with a lower right leg injury.

Holiday played in Wednesday night’s loss to the Washington Wizards.  He scored eight points in 29 minutes, and it is unclear when the injury occured.  The team says the injury is a stress fracture in his right tibia.

Pelicans leading scorer Ryan Anderson has also been out with a herniated disc since last weekend, causing the team to lose some ground in the competitive Western Conference standings.

In 34 games this season, Holiday is averaging 14.3 points, 7.9 assists and 4.2 rebounds.  The Pelicans host the Dallas Mavericks Friday night.
