Slight Ratings Increase for Grammy Telecast

Cliff Lipson/CBS(NEW YORK) — The ratings for Sunday night’s Grammy Awards were on par with that of the 2013 telecast.
CBS says an estimated 28.51 million viewers tuned in to its telecast of the 56th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday night. That would be a slight increase over the 28.38 million who watched the Grammys last year.
Sunday’s telecast pulled in the second-largest audience for the music award show since 1993. The 2012 Grammys, which were held one day after Whitney Houston’s death, were seen by nearly 40 million people.
French electronic duo Daft Punk and the rap team Macklemore & Ryan Lewis were the big winners Sunday night; both acts won four awards.
