Andrew Redington/Getty Images(KAPALUA, Hawaii) — Zach Johnson shot a 7-under 66 Monday on the Plantation Course at Kapalua to win the Hyundai Tournament of Champions

Johnson finished the first tournament of the new year 19-under, one stroke better than Jordan Spieth.

Johnson took his first outright lead of the day when he birdied the par-4 13th. Johnson proceeded to birdie the next two holes and earn his 11th career win.

“I just picked it apart,” Johnson said of his play at Kapalua. “I didn’t deviate from anything I typically do on a golf course.”

Dustin Johnson, who was looking to become the third back-to-back winner at Kapalua, started the day in a three-way tie for first but shot a even-par 73 to finish the tournament at 14-under.
