Streaking Spurs Send 76ers to 25th Straight Loss
Published at(SAN ANTONIO) — Monday night’s game between the Philadelphia 76ers and San Antonio Spurs was a prime example of two NBA franchises going in completely opposite directions.
Austin Daye scored 22 points and Tim Duncan added 19 as the Spurs routed the 76ers 113-91 for their 14th straight victory. On the other hand, Philadelphia has now lost 25 games in a row.
WIth their latest setback, the 76ers (15-56) are just two more defeats away from tying the NBA record for consecutive losses set by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2010-11. They face the Houston Rockets on Thursday.
Kawhi Leonard, Patty Mills, and Cory Joseph also scored in double figures for the Spurs, who maintained the NBA’s best record at 54-16.
Thaddeus Young and Michael Carter-Williams paced Philadelphia with 19 points apiece.
