Blue Jackets Lose Horton for Six Weeks
Published at(COLUMBUS, Ohio) — Columbus Blue Jackets forward Nathan Horton underwent surgery to fix an abdominal injury and is expected to miss approximately six weeks, the team announced Friday.
The 28-year-old Horton signed a seven-year contract with the Blue Jackets this past offseason. He missed the first half of the season while recovering from shoulder surgery.
Horton joined the Blue Jackets lineup Jan. 2 and played in 36 games recording five goals and 14 assists.
Before coming to Columbus, Horton played three seasons for the Boston Bruins. During his time with the Bruins, Horton went to two Stanley Cup Finals, winning one.
