“Saturday Night Live” Star Says He’s Been Fired

NBC(NEW YORK) — Saturday Night Live has apparently axed one of its cast members from its most recent season.
Brooks Wheelan, who was added to the NBC sketch-comedy show before the start of the 2013-2014 season, announced Monday on Twitter that he’s been given the pink slip.
The 27-year-old comedian informed his followers, “Had a blast and loved every second of it. I’m totally honored to be able to make this next joke… FIRED FROM NEW YORK IT’S SATURDAY NIGHT!”
It remains to be seen what other changes are made to the SNL cast before the show returns for its 40th season in September. One star who’s likely gone is Nasim Pedrad; she’s a cast member of the upcoming Fox comedy Mulaney, starring former SNL writer John Mulaney.
