Former Boxer Harry Reid: Bruised But Not Down

US Congress(WASHINGTON) — A visibly bruised Harry Reid released a video message Tuesday on the first day of the new Congress, which he missed due to an injury sustained while exercising last week.
“As most people know, I fought for a couple of years. After any one of those fights, I never looked like I do now,” Reid, a former boxer, says in the video. “However, I didn’t get this black eye by sparring with Manny by challenging Floyd Mayweather, I didn’t go bull riding. I didn’t ride a motorcycle. I was exercising in my new home and the doctors have told me I’ve got to take it easy.”
“I had a presentation all made to start the new Congress. I’ve been doing new Congresses for this will be my 33rd year and I really have some homesickness,” he adds. “We’re going to continue to fight for good things for this country. We understand the rich are getting richer, the poor are getting poorer…we’re going to do everything we can to fulfill the expectations the middle class has and we will continue to fight for them and we are going to do that.”
It’s unknown when Reid, D-Nev., will return to work in the Capitol.
