In the recording, a woman reports the crash, which occurred in Malibu, California, on Saturday. When the dispatcher asks if there are any injuries, the woman answers, “I’m going to say yes, it looks pretty bad.”

A woman driving a Lexus struck a Toyota Prius, authorities have said. Jenner’s SUV then hit the Lexus, pushing it into oncoming traffic, where it hit a Humvee. The driver of the Lexus was killed, while five people inside the Humvee suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The driver of the Prius, Jessica Steindorff, released a statement Wednesday in which she said her heart goes out to the victims of the crash. She then offered her version of what happened: “I was on my way to a meeting in Zuma Beach with a client, and did not suddenly stop, or try to make a u-turn. I was simply stopped for backed up beach traffic. It is my understanding that Mr. Jenner struck the white Lexus, knocking it into oncoming traffic, and then rear-ending me at a high rate of speed. I was only struck once.”

Steindorff added that she’s confident that once police finish their investigation, the truth regarding what transpired during the accident will come out.

Jenner was uninjured in the crash.
