ABC’s “How to Get Away with Murder,” “black-ish” Winners at NAACP Image Awards

The network earned major prizes for two of its freshmen shows. How to Get Away with Murder was named outstanding drama series, while black-ish received the award for outstanding comedy series.

In addition, How to Get Away with Murder’s Viola Davis and black-ish cast members Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross were among the ABC stars who won acting awards.

Selma
took the award for outstanding motion picture, and star David Oyelowo was named outstanding actor in a motion picture.

Among the special honorees were Spike Lee, who received the NAACP President’s Award, in recognition of distinguished public service.

The NAACP Image Awards aired on the TV One network and was hosted by Anderson.
