Arrest Made After Minneapolis Police Officer Shot
Published at(MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.) — A suspect is in custody after a Minneapolis police officer was shot on Saturday after responding to an early morning burglary call.
According to a city press release, the two officers had handled a burglary report on 24th Avenue North just before 5 a.m. when one of the officers was shot at their car. The injured officer’s partner drove him to the hospital where he is listed in stable condition. Minneapolis Police Chief Janee Harteau said in a statement that “there is little doubt that an officer was the intended target of this shooting and that this officer just happened to be the one who was there.”
Later on Saturday, Harteau tweeted that an arrest had been made. Still, she noted, the investigation into the shooting was ongoing.
Investigation continues but an arrest made! Info forthcoming. nice work MPD! Always proud to be your chief.
