Attorneys for Boston Marathon Bombing Suspect Cite Shoveler in Latest Change of Venue Attempt

FBI(BOSTON) — Attorneys for Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev filed another motion to change the venue of Tsarnaev’s trial, this time citing the publicized photo of the “mystery shoveler” who cleared show from the Marathon finish line after last week’s blizzard.
“An event occurring within the past few days aptly symbolizes the unprecedented level of public feeling that still surrounds the Boston Marathon bombing and that underlies the difficulties that have beset the jury selection process so far,” the attorneys said in the motion to change venue. The filing also contains an image of the shoveler.
Defense attorneys argue that the photograph and its context are another example of the reasons why the court should halt jury selection immediately.
