Boston Faces More Snow, Below-Freezing Temperatures Expected Across Northeast

Marccophoto/iStock/Thinkstock(BOSTON) — Boston is bracing for its fourth straight weekend of snow as another storm is expected in the Northeast.
Snow is expected to begin falling Saturday afternoon in Boston with blizzard conditions likely to start in the evening. A record amount of snow has fallen in the city over the last four weeks.
Coastal New England is expected to receive the brunt of the storm with snowfall totals between 10 and 14 inches.
The heaviest snow is expected to stay north and east of New York City, where only two to four inches are forecast. An inch of snow is expected in Philadelphia.
Blizzard conditions in Boston are expected to include extremely low visibility and very strong winds, creating hazardous travel conditions.
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority made the decision Friday night to suspend all service for Sunday in advance of the storm.
Windy conditions are expected in much of the northeast – stretching from Washington, D.C., to Maine. In the major cities, winds will be well over 40 miles per hour at times – strong enough to down trees and power lines.
The storm should be clear by Sunday night, but cold temperatures will remain. By Sunday night and Monday morning, major cities in the Northeast will feel like they are in the -10s and -20s.
Some of the major cities may even see their lowest temperatures in decades.
