Chipotle’s Twitter Account Hacked
Published at(NEW YORK) — Chipotle apologized for offensive tweets sent from its account early Sunday morning after it was apparently hacked.
The company’s account began posting a series of tweets at about 2 a.m., many of which included expletives and racial or homophobic slurs. Others said the food was poisoned and that all the restaurants would be closed on Dec. 31, 2015.
The profile image for the account was also changed to a swastika.
The hacker identified himself as @TUGSFeds in some of the tweets. At times, he tagged other users and used hashtags in the posts.
Despite the tweets’ content, model Chrissy Teigen made light of the situation.
.@ChipotleTweets is going off. Like their employees when you ask for guac.

A few hours later, Chipotle apologized for the “offensive messages.”
We apologize for the very offensive messages sent out from our account earlier tonight. We were unfortunately hijacked temporarily. -Joe
