According to the Coast Guard, no Coast Guard personnel were injured. Just before 6 a.m., Ottawa County Dispatch received a phone call from a man who claimed he had a bomb in his truck and was going to blow up the Coast Guard station in Grand Haven.

During the evacuation, a 34-year-old man allegedly drove through the station’s gate and broke into the building. He was subdued by station personnel and taken into custody.

No explosives were found at the scene.

Grand Haven Director of Public Safety Jeff Hawke said Sunday that the case was initially investigated “as a potential act of domestic terrorism based on the circumstances,” but that the investigation “has not revealed any link to terrorism” as of Sunday afternoon.
