Scott Walker Tells “Washington Post” He Doesn’t Know if Obama Is a Christian
Published at(WASHINGTON) — Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker told the Washington Post on Saturday that he doesn’t know whether President Obama is a Christian.
“I don’t know,” Walker told the Post when asked about the commander in chief’s religion. The paper noted that when Walker was told that Obama has “frequently spoken publicly about his Christian faith,” Walker said that he had “actually never talked about it or I haven’t read about that.”
“I’ve never asked him that,” Walker explained. “You’ve asked me to make statements about people that I haven’t had a coversation with about that.”
The Wisconsin governor told the Post that he felt the question was not “even remotely close” to the subjects the people are interested in.
Walker spokeswoman Jocelyn Webster contacted the paper to say that Walker “was trying to make a point of principle by not answering such kinds of questions,” the Post wrote.
Walker tweeted a link to his PAC later on Saturday, saying that he had had “enough with the media’s gotcha game.”
