Toledo Mayor Suffers Heart Attack

Office of the Mayor/iStock/Thinkstock(TOLEDO, Ohio) — Toledo Mayor D. Michael Collins was hospitalized on Sunday after suffering a heart attack.
According to a news release from the Mayor’s Office, Collins was in critical condition at the University of Toledo Medical Center’s Intensive Care Unit. There was no timetable or prognosis provided for the mayor’s recovery.
Collins’ Chief of Staff Bob Reinbolt said on Sunday that Collins’ treatment could take several days, during which time City Council President Paula Hicks-Hudson will serve as Acting Mayor.
ABC’s Toledo affiliate 13abc reported Sunday that Collins had been involved in a car accident.
