University of Virginia Police Investigating Reported Sexual Assault in Dorm
Published at(CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.) — University of Virginia police are investigating a report of a sexual assault believed to have occurred last week in a dorm on campus.
The University has taken numerous steps to attempt to fight and prevent sexual assault on campus and change the way they handle cases after an article in Rolling Stone magazine — which has since been called into question — detailed a culture of rape and sexual violence surrounding a sexual assault case that purportedly took place at a fraternity house.
University of Virginia Deputy Spokesperson Matthew Charles told ABC News that the incident is believed to have taken place on Jan. 30.
