US-Led Coalition Conducted 34 More Airstrikes in Iraq, Syria Sunday

pablographix/iStock/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) — The U.S.-led coalition conducted 34 more airstrikes in Iraq and Syria against ISIS targets on Sunday.

According to U.S. Central Command, eight strikes were conducted in Syria, seven near the town of Kobani and one near Ar Raqqah. Those strikes hit an ISIS staging area and five tactical units while destroying five ISIS fighting positions.

Twenty-six more strikes were launched in Iraq, including 19 near the city of Kirkuk. In total, those strikes struck 15 tactical units and four large units. Destroyed in the strikes were two staging areas, nine fighting positions, eight vehicles, two armored vehicles, a tank, three buildings, a heavy weapon, a shipping container and a modular structure.
