Members of the United Steelworkers Union walked out of nine other plants last weekend after talks with Shell Oil Company broke down.

Tom Kloza, global head of energy analysis at the Oil Price Information Service told ABC News that the strike “shouldn’t have impact on refining production.” It may, however, come with possible higher prices for gasoline. “Gasoline prices always move higher…between Feb. 1 and April 15 and I do think we’ll see that this year,” Kloza said, pointing out that “concern about the strike, as opposed to actual impact of it, probably will help create more updrafts.”
