Who’s In, Who’s Out at “American Horror Story”

Sam Lothridge/FX(NEW YORK) — After four seasons, Jessica Lange is finally saying farewell to American Horror Story.

“Yes, I’m done,” the 65-year-old actress told the audience at Sunday’s PaleyFest in Hollywood. “We’ve had a great run here. I have absolutely loved doing these four characters that I’ve had the opportunity to play. In all the madness, I’ve loved the writers, my actors, Ryan and the whole, I mean, insanity of it, shooting here, shooting in New Orleans, the stories, everything.”

Lange, who has been with the FX series, by Glee creator Ryan Murphy, since its inception in 2011, added, “Forty years of acting and it’s never going to get better than this. Yes, I’m done. I loved this season. It was my absolute favorite.”

The Oscar winner earned two Emmy Awards for her work on the series.

While Lange is leaving, another diva is checking in for the upcoming American Horror Story: Hotel.

Last month, Lady Gaga announced on Twitter that she will appear in season five of the FX show.

“Make your reservation now,” she wrote.

Joining her will be 30 Rock star Cheyenne Jackson and White Collar star Matt Bomer. Both have worked with Murphy before as guest stars on Glee.

Bomer, who played a prostitute who gets murdered on this past season’s American Horror Story: Freak Show, also won a Golden Globe earlier this year for his star turn in The Normal Heart, directed by Murphy.

“I love collaborating with Ryan Murphy,” Bomer told PaleyFest. “I had the time of my life and I told Ryan that. He said, ‘Great, do you want to come work next season?’ And I said, ‘Hell, yes.'”

Bomer also teased that he could “neither confirm nor deny” whether his character will end up in a romantic relationship with Gaga.
